Shuts down

After the warm up the app shuts off. I tried to restart and it kicks me to the middle of the work out then shuts off again. I was really looking forward to this app.

Where to start...

I purchased this app to help me prepare for my first 10K, and being familiar with the Jeff Galloway training program from his web site, I thought it would be a great way to track my training. Overall, I have to say Im very disappointed. There are lots of bugs, functional/interface issues, and a lack of understanding of what a runner needs. My biggest problems with the app are: - It doesnt follow Jeffs 10K program on his website. The basics of the program are that your weekly runs are about time running and your weekend run is about actual distance. The app doesnt seem to understand that with everything being timed based. More over the distance and times are off - maybe they are tweaking it based on target pace, but a little explanation would help. - As an experienced runner, I dont need to walk during my workouts, so I was happy to see a just run option - but it doesnt work. In the middle of a run youre still told to start walking then immediately told to keep running. More importantly during the walk phase I didnt ask for, it starts playing low BPM music which is a real downer if your looking to keep a steady pace. - While I welcome the iTunes music integration, it seems to constantly repeat songs - even though Ive added a ton and download the free music from lolo. Im sorry but for a 35 minute workout I really dont need to hear the same song four times. Also, music starts playing when you launch the app - with no way to shut it off unless you start a workout or shut the app. - Overall lack of customization/knowledge of what youre doing. If you know the date of your 10k why not allow it to be entered and set up the 13-week program backwards. While I can see completed workouts, the workouts themselves are not tied to a specific date unless you do it, and if you do a workout on the wrong day there is no way to edit its date to keep your schedule neat. Also, if you look at a past workout (from the main interface, not your completed list), it lists the ideal time/distance, not what you actually did. Ill continue to use the app for a few weeks more to see if I can get something useful out of the money spent, but Ive already paired it with the iMapmyrun app to give me a better indication of what Im doing out on the road - but right now its only serving as a calendar and music player and doing both poorly. Sorry for the length. Keep running.

App crashed on day 2

The app was not user friendly on day one and ruined my run. The free 15 songs that came with it "downloaded" but would not play at all. I had to make a list, literally while running, with my own music and it kept repeating songs without playing them all. On day 2, it crashed after the 3 min warmup and nothing I do with my app, iTunes, or my phone will fix it. I was really looking forward to the assistance of the app but will be purchasing the Nike+ sensor and using that instead. Jeff Galloway seems like a great coach but the app is just broken. Find another app if you want the run/walk instructions or use the free Map my Run app for time and distance.

App crashes

This app keeps crashing after 3 minute warm- up. Not happy and want my $$ back.

The program crashes

I used it for 3 minutes and it just crashes. Please fix it. I love the 5k.

Running with Galloway

Update: Last version got kinda "crashy" (lol). Looks like the update fixed that. YAY!! Im an avid Galloway follower and I gotta say this app is like having him right there with me!! Now please give us a half marathon app. Im hoping to run one this year!!

Thanks for the fix!

Thanks lolo for getting rid of the crash. Works like a charm again.

Great customization

I love this app and I am reaching distances I never dreamed of. Please do a half marathon

New version fixed bugs and works great!

I reviewed this app negatively back when it was crashing after the warmup. Since then, lolo has completely fixed that issue and I finally have the app I was hoping for. The new app is fantastic. It manages several tasks simultaneously like playing my iPod music with and w/o beat sync, good GPS function, walk/run ratio timer and Jeff Galloways encouraging coaching. This app has helped me run over 4 miles for the first time in my life after having done several 5Ks. Im working on an upcoming 10 mile run and have no doubt with Jeff Galloways coaching, Ill be able to finish. Thanks lolo team.

Disappointed

Was excited to get this after reading other reviews. However, there are a few glaring problems. First, the cues are nice but all wrong and you are never quite sure if they mean minutes or miles. Secondly, I put in I was a NEW runner, and by day 1 week 2 the program had me running 10 miles and I had to stop at 45 minutes when program was still going. The free 15 songs all sound the same. I would not recommend spending the money on this app. I gave it one star for the unsafe progression of mileage. Makes one very prone to injury which is against Galloways philosophy

Good app

I like the music integration in this app with the change in bpm. However, it tends to play same songs over and over even though I downloaded the apps songs, too. Also, it bothers me how the music starts playing as soon as i open the app. I wish I could stop that. Finally, its nice to have the gps but I wish I could view it on the screen after my run like on the Nike+ app and Im not sure about the accuracy of the gps. Overall, its a good app but could use some fine tuning.

Has some good and some bad features

Im into my third week of this program and there are parts of it I love and parts of it that are annoying. Prior to this program I completed the Ease Into 10K app. The good: - I like how you can set your run walk ratio on this program - I like the lolo beat feature where it slows down when youre in a walking segment and speeds up when youre running. Those features are not in the Ease Into 10K app. The not so good: - I felt this app was a lot less intuitive to get started with though. I am using it in the "improve your 10K pace" mode. It has a place to set your pace, but I have no clue if thats the current pace or my desired pace. After trial and error, I realized it is the pace you want the program to use. Would be nice if you could set your current pace and then a target pace and the program would help you "improve your 10K pace". - I HATE how the music starts playing whenever you even open the app. Even if you have your phone set to silent. This is annoying and a quick fix for them to do. - It was also difficult to figure out how to silence the music, but still hear the cues. The trick is to turn the volume all the way down in the app after youve started the run. This sometimes brings the music volume back up though when you move from warmup to the run portion of the program. - I hate how some days you dont get a walk segment in between runs depending on how you have your ratio set. For example, on speed days, you have a couple of minutes of less-than-max speed, but still running before the first full-speed segment. If your ratio is set for 2 minutes or 2:30 minutes, you dont get a walk segement in and that first full speed segment is too difficult. Seems to defeat the whole walk/run philosophy. - I wish this program would either come with a supplemental file showing what to expect each day or else tell you at the end of the workout whats coming the next workout. Right now you can only see a high level of duration and distance for each day. The Ease Into 10K did a much better job at this. All in all, Im going to finish the program to see if I change my mind by the end, but wanted to post a review for those of you wondering if you should spend your $$ on this since theres no free preview available. Hope this helps. Happy running! Update on the new version (1.3): They have fixed a couple fo the things that were driving me crazy. - The music playing whenever you open the app...it no longer does this, but the "lolo" splash screen still plays the little "lolo" tune briefly when it opens, regardless of how your phone sound is set. Not sure why they left that noise when your phone is set to silent, but ok, much better. - There is now a preview of what your workout is going to be. It smashes off the small window panel somewhat, but at least you can get the idea of whats in store for you. And Ive noticed with this addition, it really gets tight on the screen if youre using any other program that might take up part of the top of your screen. For example, I use the Nike+ app and it takes up part of the top bar. This really compresses the 10K program to the point that its hard to touch the little buttons to switch to the music volume section. They also seem to have done some work with the playlist which looks positive. Before it was a pretty short and limited playlist option. Everything else seems to be the same as my review. Otherwise, good additions. Looks like they are listening to our feedback.

Fix the music!!!

It seems like I have to reload my playlist all the time! Thats ridiculous!! I love this training program but get frustrated with the music portion! I shouldnt have to reload music every time I run. That is annoying!!

Should be FREE!

This app would be great in theory but the music playlist portion is simply awful and so frustrating. I imported my playlist and had the "bpm" and smart shuffle features turned on. Because of this, the app would only play a few of my songs from my playlist because I guess the rest did not have enough bpms. So I turned both those features off so I could just listen to my playlist like normal. It keeps repeating the same songs over and over! If I skip to the next track, it plays the same songs from the beginning of my playlist before it plays the rest. SO FRUSTRATING when youre running. They need to fix this or give better instruction. I cant believe they want $14.99 & $19.99 for their half marathon and full marathon apps!!

Disappointed

I bought this to help me safely ramp up from 5k to 10k but after opening it, I see that on day 3 of week 1, it already has you doing almost 6 miles! The whole point is to increase distance gently so this is basically useless for me.

Newbie runner

Used the app for the first time today. Loved that Jeff talked to me and told me to run and then to walk. It let me play my music and I added at least 10 songs and it shuffled between those. I did accidentally restart trying to adjust the GPS after I had already started my run. Cant wait to use again! I dont like that if I want to quit the workout before the allotted workout - there isnt a way to skip to the cool down as far as I can figure.

BPM

Went from Easy 5K to this one; now the adjustment in the speed of BPMs in my music now does not match my pace. Its totally off. Trying to match it is too awkward to be correct, so I blame app-error. Running to the beat of my music, for me, makes all the difference between an enjoyable run and an meh one. No one wants to feel meh, or worse yet-frustrated, after running 4 miles. :(

hate to be that person

First, I wouldnt be running at all if not for the walk/run system that Jeff advocates. I am 59 and started running for the first time 1 1/2 yrs ago by using this method. I cannot remember feeling as good as I do right now in my entire adult life. So, about the app. Its fine. Im going thru it for the second time trying now to increase my speed and am enjoying the variety in the workouts. Increasing speed includes some intervals on a track and its fun. My major complaint is the timing of the walk breaks. They dont come when they are supposed to and lag more and more as the workout progresses. I know I can just change the setting but it bugs me that I have to...if I want a walk break at 3 minutes, I have to set it for 2 1/2 and after a few miles the walk breaks come at 3 1/2 or more. When pushing a new distance, I really look forward to those walk breaks and its disheartening when they dont come. I have other running apps that dont seem to have a problem keeping time. I can ignore Jeffs verbal cues for walk breaks and watch the clock but that defies the purpose and throws off the music/pace. Anyway, Im a big fan of the system. Its enabled me to do more than I thought possible and Im still progressing. I dont mind the monotony of the music, just the lagging of the walk breaks that get progressively worse as the workout wears on.

Disappointed is right

There is something seriously wrong with this app if you are supposed to run almost 6 miles on the 3rd workout of the first week. The workout on the app is not consistent with the 10k training plan on Jeff galloways website either.

Love it, but some glitches

I have this app, the 5K and the Half. I like them so much and recommend them, but lately having glitches where one song will keep repeating, or suddenly it will just seem to step, no music, no Jeff. Takes a few distracting minutes to reset, but seems to be okay after that, just difficult when youre working out. Can you help? Also - cant share in Facebook - says an error occurs every time...?
